Costs, uniform and other information
Subscriptions
Units charge "subs" to cover the cost of equipment, resources and badges. These can be paid weekly, monthly or termly - each unit is different and you will be advised of the arrangements upon sign up.
Uniform
Our uniform helps us feel like we are part of Guiding. The uniform varies between sections but is designed to be comfortable and practical.
Uniform is available to buy from the Girlguiding Scotland Shop. Some units have second-hand uniform that can be bought or borrowed.
Gift Aid
If you pay income tax, units can use Gift Aid to claim 25p for every £1 you pay in subs or donations.
Information can be found in the New Starter form you fill in when you join or from your unit leader.
Including all
We don’t want girls to miss out on Girlguiding for any reason. Girlguiding is excellent value for money, and there’s lots of support available to make sure all girls can get involved, whoever you are and wherever you’re from. If you’re concerned about costs stopping your daughter joining in the fun then please speak to your leader as she may be able to suggest ways to help.
