Guides

Guides are aged 10-14

Programme

The Guide programme builds on the skills learned at Rainbows and Brownies whilst continuing to build their confidence as young women.

Guides can also work towards a Guide Camp Permit where they gain a qualification to take a patrol camping as part of a larger group.

As a Guide you can also become a Peer Educator and a member of Amplify.

Badges

Girls work towards a number of badges across a multiple themes. 

They can work towards a number of different interest badges including Confectionery, Craftism and Fixing.

Awards

When a Guide has acheived all 6 Theme award badges they can work towards their Gold Award.

 

Guides can also work towards Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Experiences

Our Guides have taken part in a wide range of experiences including:

  • Sleepovers at Deep Sea World and the Tall Ship Glasgow

  • Camping at Netherurd Guiding Centre and Fordell Firs

  • Trips to Summerlee, Blair Drummond Safari Park

  • County wide events such as a Roller Disco, fun day at Strathclyde Park, and

  • Activities such as tomahawks and survival skills

Uniform

The Guide uniform is bright and identifiable with plenty of space to sew all those badges on. 

They have a poloshirt, zipper, skirt, long sleeved top and a dress to choose from!
